*ABSOLUTE – the essence of a plant obtained as a result of anfleration. Anflerage is based on the ability of plant essences to dissolve in fat (absorbents). Anflerage takes place both at low and high temperatures (maceration). An approximate process - the flowers are placed in fat until they are saturated (the flowers are renewed regularly) with essential oils, then the fat is placed in alcohol, the aromatic molecules pass into the alcohol, an alcohol extract is obtained. When the alcohol evaporates, a substance is obtained, which is called neither essence nor essential oil, but ABSOLUTE. Absolutes are not used in aromatherapy (on the physical body), only in perfumes and preparations where aromas are used.
